Flower Garden Banks Trip:
This dive vacation is a liveaboard trip leaving from Freeport, TX, and motors overnight to the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary (FGBNMS) in the Gulf of Mexico. We will board the M/V Fling at 7:30 pm on Friday at 702 W Brazos St, Freeport, TX 77541 and the two-day trips will return Sunday evening around 6 pm while our three-day trip in September will return Monday evening also around 6 pm. It’s important to note that we will not know until around noon, Friday,  on the day of departure if the trip is a go based on the most up to date weather and wave forecasts.
The two-day trips will visit the East and West Banks of the FGBNMS on Saturday where one can do five dives. We will then motor Saturday evening after the night dive to the Stetson Bank where one can do two dives on Sunday before the MV Fling heads for port. The three-day trip will also visit The Kraken, a 371-foot cargo vessel that was sunk as part of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Artificial Reef Program. Those wreak dives on The Kraken will be on Monday before returning to port.
Most of the diving depths in the FGBNM are between 60 feet and 100 feet, so an Advanced Certification is recommended.  If you want to dive Nitrox (and you do) you will also need an Enriched Air/Nitrox Certification, which we can provide at an additional cost.
The M/V Fling has a nice FAQ page for additional information. The MV Fling will provide a typical 80 cubic foot aluminium tank with a yoke valve, a bunk bed with sheets, a pillow, and a blanket. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, water, coffee, and Gatorade are included. Beer and wine are an extra charge. You must bring everything else you need including lead weights (which we can lend you for a deposit), a safety sausage, and all your scuba gear (which we is available to rent or purchase from us as well). If you want to do the night dive, you and your buddy are required to have three underwater flashlights and two tank lights which cannot be a white strobe. There is also some paperwork that needs to be filled out prior to the trip.

Cost:
The three-day trip is $700 and Nitrox is an additional $90. Trip insurance and DAN insurance are not included but highly recommended.
If the trip is cancelled due to weather, you can move to another date if there is room. You can also get a refund.
If you can with 31 or more days of notice before the trip, we can offer you a full refund. If you want to cancel with 30 days or less notice, we will try and sell your spot but we cannot offer you a refund unless we sell it.
Enriched Air/Nitrox is recommended. If you would like to get certified, please click here.
